An open letter from the COO to my next Director of Agency Business Development:

New business is the life blood of any company and Burns understands the importance of this!  We are looking for a person to lead and manage an already robust base of agency business, while identifying and growing that base to ensure our status as the leader in the industry.  If you have a passion for celebrities, entertainment, sports, or music and the desire to accelerate your career growth on a national and global platform, we would like to begin an exploratory conversation right away.

Let me give you a sense of what is happening with the role of the Director of Agency Business Development:

  1. Act as the eyes, ears, and mouth of Burns in the world of consumer brand public relations and take a vested interest in the industry to understand what its needs are now and in the future using celebrity.
  2. Manage and maintain current agency clients and projects while coordinating with our internal service team to insure client satisfaction and successful celebrity campaigns. Building new business from current business is one of the cornerstones of our long term growth and success.
  3. Develop and create a long term sales pipeline using your agency executive contacts, prospecting new/up and coming agencies, tracking agency trends and account changes, customized internal/external referral program, executive database, and targeted events with networking opportunities. Travel is required and encouraged!

Our new Director of Agency Business Development plays an equally critical role in shaping how we interact with clients, while predicting new trends and services that we should provide to ensure your account team is performing at peak levels and client satisfaction is at an all time high.

You would need to have five years or more of selling a service into the public relations industry and a track record of self motivation, strong client leadership skills along with excellent written and verbal skills. A firm grasp on the latest in celebrity news, trends & gossip is important. The ability to thrive in a fast paced, entrepreneurial, agency environment is a must.
